Sharing European experiences
November 19th and 21st 2025 Webinar
These two lunch webinars offered judges from different European countries, who are involved in promoting mediation and conciliation, the opportunity to share the lessons they have learned from their amicable office in the digital age and in a context where the rule of law is being questioned. During the one-hour webinar, the following topics were discussed, at the discretion of the speakers.
- In what ways is the amicable office of the judge developing in your country today?
- Does the strengthening of the amicable office of the judge pursue the goal of humanity or the goal of judicial efficiency?
- Is strengthening the role of judges in the search for amicable solutions compatible with the digitization of the justice system?
- Does the involvement of judges in the search for amicable solutions contribute to their well-being?
- Can the development of amicable justice strengthen citizens’ confidence in the judicial institution and the rule of law?
- Under what conditions will amicable justice be able to ensure the protection of fundamental rights and, in particular, guarantee compliance with Article 47 of the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union, equivalent to contentious justice?
