“Building Bridges Not Walls: Essentials of a Successful Mediation” – Chronicle with the speakers’ presentations

The Irish section of GEMME organized an event under the title "Building Bridges Not Walls: Essentials of a Successful Mediation" on Wednesday, 25th October 2023. 

It was an extremely informative and practical seminar taking place at Gaffney Room, Distillery Building and Online. GEMME Ireland was fortunate to have secured two of Ireland's most experienced mediators to speak at the event, Cathrina Keville BL. and Bill Holohan SC, Solicitor. The seminar was chaired by The Honourable Ms Marguerite Bolger Judge of the High Court and president of GEMME Ireland.  (All three in the picture above)

About the speakers:

• Cathrina Keville BL. 
Ms. Cathrina Keville BL is a practising barrister with a special interest in alternative dispute resolution. She is an MII accredited and practising mediator, a member of Dublin Community Mediation, an adjudicator and mediator with the Residential Tenancies Board, a former Chairperson of the Arbitration and ADR Committee of the Bar Council of Ireland and a lecturer on the Kings Inns Advanced Diploma in Mediation.

• Bill Holohan SC, Solicitor
Bill Holohan is a senior and experienced legal practitioner who has been actively involved in alternative dispute resolution and mediation for many years. He is currently a member of the Civil & Commercial Committee of the Irish Professional Mediators’ Organisation and a member of the Law Society ADR committee. He is passionate about mediation and as he says himself had “a road to Damascus conversion to it” following 25 years of practice in litigation. He has accumulated invaluable and practical expertise in mediation, which because of his passion for the process he is only too willing to share with others.
