The new GEMME Bureau meets for the first time to define the association’s lines of action for the coming months

The first meeting of the new GEMME Bureau - which was elected in June during the General Assembly held in Barcelona - took place on 19 July with the aim of sharing new ideas and proposals and defining the lines of action for the coming months.

These are the upcoming activities of GEMME that were agreed (in chronological order):

  1. Mediation Training (exclusively for Polish judges). It will take place on 5-7 October 2022 and will be organised by the Polish section of GEMME.
  2. Webinar on mediation in collaboration with the European Judicial Training Network. It will take place on 22 November 2022 in French. The event is scheduled to take place after the summer, when the agenda of the event will also be made public. Another edition of the event is planned to be held in English at a later date.
  3. Celebration of the 20th anniversary of GEMME. It will take place from 26-30 May in Strasbourg and is organised by the French section of GEMME, to mark the 20th anniversary of the founding of the Association.

It was also agreed that the next meeting of the Bureau will take place via zoom by 15 October and a face-to-face meeting is scheduled to take place in Vienna on 26 November 2022.

The meeting took place on 19 July at 19:00h and was attended by: Rosalía Fernández (President, Spain), Avi Schneebalg (Vice President, Belgium), Eric van Engelen (Vice President, The Netherlands), Ugo Ferruta (Vice President, Italy), Monika Wlodarczyk (Vice President, Poland), Béatrice Brenneur (Honorary President, France), Anne Gongora (Secretary General, France), Laura van der Krogt (Deputy Secretary General, The Netherlands) and Carme Guil (Deputy Treasurer, Spain).

The Bureau is the executive  board of GEMME and is composed of the following associative positions: the president, the vice presidents (there are 4), the secretary general and her deputy, the treasurer and her deputy.
